POST 4: MY BEST PLACE
Hello my virtual-friends (if someone read my post), today i was thinking about my favorite place in this city (Santiago de Chile) and I realized my favorite place is San Cristobal hill.
I don´t go very much to San Cristobal hill, but wen I go I like it. Why?? Because I like to climb it in my bike.
San Cristobal Hill is located between providencia, recoleta and huechuraba (In Chile we told "comuna" to this little administrative goverment, the city of Santiago has dividd in some "comunas" like providencia, recoleta and huechuraba), It´s a relatively center place of the city. You can get this hill by different places because it have different entry points
I love San Cristobal hill because I like to go in my bike and climb it, but many people go there to do different thigs like make a barbecue, running, visit the "virgen" in the top of the hill, go to the swimming pool, walk arround, play sports, and all you can imagine that you can do in a hill. But the historical atractions of the hill are "funicular", "teleferico", the zoo and visit the "virgen".
The "funicular" is kind of elevator-train to transport people to the top of the hill, it´s nice to be in there and enjoy the view. The "teleferico" it doesn´t work since many years, i don´t know why, but I think it´s a great experience traveling into them, It´s a capsule like an egg with seats inside guided by a wire, into them you can see a spectacular view of the city of Santiago because you travel hundred of meters over the floor to the top of the hill.
This is all for today, I hope you visit San Cristobal Hill, bye

One of my favourite places in Santiago is Barrio Italia. Barrio Italia is a traditional neighbourhood in Santiago located in the streets sorrrounding Avenida Italia, just where Ñuñoa and Providencia meet.
If you're good at walking go to Salvador underground station and then walk South for about 10 blocks and there it is.
This neighbourhood is in an old part of the town where houses have been converted into workshops, restaurants, cafes, hotels, antiques shops... The list is long. It´s like a San Telmo, the famous street fair in Buenos Aires, but much more smaller and probably safer, and If you go in spring or summer you will see people of all ages walking around the streets. What I like about it is that there you can find a nice mixture between old and modern things.
Barrio Italia is the perfect outing for a Saturday morning when most shops are open. You can go on your own and sit outside a cafe or restaurant to see the people go by, or you can go with some friends and have a nice lunch or talk over a coffee or beer. You can also go with your family and spend time window shopping, then have a nice cup of tea and pastries or some delicious icecream.
So if you are tired of going to crowded and noisy malls, make a change and visit this old (but refurbished) charming place.
